Natural Grace Wood Caskets by Trappist Caskets

All of the children’s caskets are made from wood grown in the surrounding forest owned by the Trappist Monks of New Melleray Abbey, Peosta Iowa.  As a living memorial, the monks plant a tree in honor of every child who is buried in one of their caskets.  In addition, a special mass is said each child’s name.  Each casket is beautifully made, presentation appropriate and includes a natural muslin-upholstered interior, pillow, and mattress. This collection of eco-friendly Caskets are hand crafted by skilled weavers. They are suitable for viewing and services followed by either burial or cremation. They are available in willow, white willow, seagrass and bamboo.  The bamboo used to produce these caskets is NOT a species that is consumed by endangered Panda populations. Each casket is handmade and they will all vary slightly in color and appearance. Each casket includes a natural unbleached cotton interior, matching pillow and privacy shield.
